The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been around in awhile.

So by now, I'm sure everyone has heard about this video that's been going around. It's about this bus monitor, and these kids who I think are no older than...twelve or thirteen I wanna say? Anyway, these kids are just saying these really awful things to her, telling her that her family killed themselves because they couldn't stand being around her(to make matters worse, her son actually did kill himself ten years ago) and calling her fat, telling her they're gonna kill her and rape her body, stuff like that. I'm not going to link to the video because honestly, I don't want to watch even a second of it.

You know, it takes a lot nowadays to get me really really pissed off but when I heard about this, it really got my blood boiling. I just don't understand how anyone can be so cruel as to make fun of someone like that. And even to the point where she starts CRYING! And even when she's crying, they're still doing it! I don't understand what would be going through their heads when they did this. "Dude, you know what would be SO funny? Let's make fun of an old lady! Yeah, we should like, call her fat, and talk about how we're gonna rape her! Man, we're so cool!!"

This isn't funny in any way, shape or form. This is fucking disgusting. I feel so bad for this woman and I hope that she gets to have a long, enjoyable vacation. I hope she never has to go through this again for the rest of her life and I hope that she knows that there are people out there who care about her and who are behind her every step of the way.

Now I myself have been bullied alot in my school days and I understand just how badly bullying can affect someone. But this video isn't just an example of bullying at its worst. It's also an example of society at its worst. I mean, how can anyone treat another human being like this? What do you possibly get out of making someone feel lower than dirt? I don't understand it and truthfully, I never want to understand it.

To the kids who picked on this woman, I hope you carry this moment with you your whole life. I hope, when you're this woman's age, you look back and realize how much pain you caused her. When you realize what you've done, I hope you feel as bad you made her feel. You're not funny or cool for harassing an elderly woman. You're pathetic. If you get lucky and somehow manage to have children and grandchildren, I hope they end up becoming better people than you.

I have been bullied since my first year of school, I still am, but not as much. I just don't get people sometimes, and this is just setting a negative stereotype on boys in highschool.
I hope that woman has fun spending all of that money she got, and I also hope that people understand the irony in this article of current affairs.

I've been bullied since 1st grade with little to no break each year till now but never physically & I'm in 11th grade now but I've long since learned to ignore it
Still sometimes gets me annoyed enough to yell at the bullies though
P.s. I've never intentionally cursed at someone even when I was mad well I actually don't think accidentally either

I wouldn't go that far but they do need to be given a severe punishment. More severe than just being expelled and having their X-Box taken away for a week.
