Little Boy Dragon Pt. 3

"Hey, you, stop! My brother shouted as he gave chase to the mysterious man.

The man noticed my brother and raced onto the train. My brother made a quick dash towards the train, just barely boarding.

"What'dya want with me?!" The man shouted.

"Give us the drug!" My brother demanded.

"What drug?" the man asked.

"The drug you used to turn my little brother into a dragon!" My brother replied.

"WHAT?!" The man thought out loud.

As the two bickered back and fourth, I noticed something about this guy.

"Bro, can I talk to you?" I asked.

"What? What's up, Akira?"

"Bro, that's not him."

"What do you mean 'that's not him'?" My brother asked.

"That's not the guy who did this to me. He's not that tall and...he doesn't have as scary a look as the other guy." I said.

"Did that stuffed animal just talk?" The man asked.

"Stuffed animal? STUFFED ANIMAL?! Haven't you ever seen a walking, talking child dragon before?!" I screamed. At that point, I was kind of getting sick of being reffered to as "a stuffed animal".

The man looked as if he was about to lose his mind. As the train neared its stop, the man ran out, screaming "It's a real dragon! It's an honest-to-god dragon!"

"I'm sorry, big bro. I made you look really stupid back there." I said.

"Akira, it's alright."

"I just...I just want my old body back so badly." I said, starting to choke up. Tears began to stream down my scaly face.

"C'mon, Akira. Don't cry. We'll get your old body back. So that guy wasn't the guy who drugged you. That doesn't mean we won't find him."

I sniffled a little. Then asked, "How?"

"Well I was thinking: What if we go back to the place where you were turned into a dragon? We might be able to find something." My brother explained.

"But...that was like three years ago. What if we don't find anything?" I asked.

"It's still worth trying, Akira. You do want to go back to being a human again, don't you?"

I nodded.

And so we took the train all the way back to the place where my transformation occurred. I tried to remember the exact place where it all began. We walked around for about a half-hour before we found where my transformation took place.

"Bro!" I shouted. "This is it! This is it!"

My brother unzipped his backpack and pulled me out. It felt good to stretch my legs after having to ride in a backpack for so long. My tail had its own version of a charliehorse. I screamed in pain a little as I wagged my tail around to try to shake it off. After my tail began to feel better, I walked around a little, sniffing the ground to see if I could pick up even the fiantest scent.

My brother laughed a little under his breath.

"I gotta say, Akira. When you sniff around, you look a bit like a dog." He said, jokingly.

"Shut up." I said. Even though he was right. I was basically the size of a dog now.

Just then, my finned ears picked up something. It sounded like boots. There was someone else here besides me and my brother!

"Well, well. If it isn't the little dragon from three years ago. How's life as a dragon been going?"

"Who...who's there?!" I responded to the omynous voice.

The person walked out into the light. It was the guy who drugged me! Even after three years, I recognized every little bit of him, right down to his intimidating grin.

"YOU!" I shouted in fear. My whole body began shaking.

"So you must be the guy who did this to Akira." My brother said. "How could you do something like that to a little kid?!"

"It was just a test." The man answered.

"A test?! For what?!"

"To see if my experimental drug would actually work. Glad to see it did." The man said, sounding proud of himself.

"But why did you need Akira? What's he got to do with this?" My brother asked.

"I didn't NEED him, per se. I just figured if anyone were naive enough to take candy from a random stranger, it'd be a small child. All I need to do was wait for him to leave the safety of his family. Then, when he was out of their sight, knock him out, drag him into the woods. And try the drug on him after he woke up." The man explained.

"Well...what would have happened if the drug didn't work?" My brother asked.

"If the drug didn't work...he could have died." The man said.

I was even more shook up now. Tears began to travel down my face again. I backed away in fear. After hearing that, I was now completely terrified of the guy.

"I told you I'd be back for you, little dragon. I'm taking you with me. You'll make an excellent research sample." The man said, getting closer to me.

"N-n-n NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!!" I shouted, rushing towards the guy. I jumped and headbutted the guy in the stomach. The man grabbed me by one of my horns, held me up so that his face met with mine, and punched me in the stomach. I couldn't stay awake and I lost conciousness.

I woke up a little later to the sound of my brother's voice. We were still at the place where we had our picnic but my sister and Drago were all there as well.

"Guys?" I said, still waking up.

"What happened to the guy who drugged me?" I asked.

"Well, Drago here saw the guy beating you up and attacked him. He konked the guy down the hill but..." My brother stopped.

"But what?" I asked.

"We don't know what happened to him. When we got down there, he was gone. But he did leave this!" My brother smiled, holding out a bottled test tube.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Well apparently, it's the antidote to turn you back into a human." My brother explained.

I smiled to myself.

"Thanks, guys. Really. But... I kinda like being a dragon actually. I didn't realize how cool it actually was at first. But I think when that guy was trying to take me with him, I actually felt pretty brave. I felt like a real dragon there. So...thanks. I mean it. But...I think I'm gonna stay as a dragon. I just like it better."

"Akira...then what do you want us to do with this?" My brother asked.

"We could take it with us." My sister suggested.

"Yeah. You never know. Akira may want to go back to being human someday." Drago said.

My brother and sister got on Drago's back as he took to flight. I opened my wings and flew off as well. I realized this was the first time I had ever really flown since becoming a dragon. As I flew, I thought all about what I had experienced since becoming a dragon. I realized that it was those memories that made me want to stay as I now was.

Two months had passed. My life as a dragon started to settle down since this whole thing began. My brother and sister are still the same as ever. Every weekend, Drago would take me to the spot where my transformation occurred and trained me to become a proper dragon.

As for the guy on the train? Well, from what I heard, the guy became so hysterical after seeing me talk that he was put in an insane asylum. That's all I heard.



Will a day ever come that I drink that antidote? Maybe. Maybe not. Only time will tell.
