A New Life was the first ever TF story I had written in three years. This is a remake of that story. This is the story of how, with the help of an internet friend, I was able to understand what I truly was. Dragoness, thank you for helping me to understand my place in the world.
Anyways on with the story.
It was 85 degrees out. Definately air conditioning temperature. I sat at my computer. My desk covered in Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and manga. My room itself was covered in my drawings and DVDs. I spent many days working on my drawings.
I checked my clock. It was 12:00 AM. Much later than I thought. I turned off my computer and wearily walked to my bed. I climbed into bed and laid there for a while. Strangely enough, despite my weariness, I couldn't get to sleep. I got up again and turned on my TV. But before I got back, I heard a voice.
"Don't deny what you are."
I had never heard voices in my head in all my 16 years on this Earth. So why was I hearing them now? I went into the bathroom to get a drink of water. When I got in, I could've sworn I tasted blood in my mouth. I opened my mouth to see what was wrong and what I saw shocked me. My teeth weren't there! Instead, there were sharp fangs in their place.
"Stop ignoring youself, boy. Remember what I told you two years ago?"
I thought of what happened two years ago. I remembered talking to someone online calling themself "Dragoness". This person said that I could get a chance at a new life. I thought it sounded stupid. It sounded like this person had some weird fantasies. She said I would need to be raised all over again. That I would need to grow up all over again. She told me to finish anything I wanted to finish in my human life because I wouldn't be able to go back for quite some time.
"Dragoness! What'd you do to me?!" I spoke with fear in my voice.
"Absolutely nothing. This is the day you become what you truly are."
I started sniffling. I had grown to love my life. I had a great family, awesome friends, and an older brother I could look up to. And now that was all about to end.
I looked at my arm as my skin came off. It was very gross but now, instead of skin, I now had blue scales covering part of my arm.
"This can't be real!" I shouted worried.
"It is real, Zobias. Just look at your hand."
I looked at my hand like Dragoness said. Claws were growing out of them. The claws were covered in blood and my thumbs and my pinkies had fused into my hands.
"I told you not to call me 'Zobias'! I'm not a dragon! I'm a boy!"
"Your snout seems to say different."
Just like Dragoness said, my face pushed outward and grew longer until it became a snout. My eyes began to hurt. I was worried about what I'd be leaving behind. I had worked hard for everything II made. My stories on Deviantart had gotten some notice. But what would happen to my stories after I was gone?
"This has to be a dream. This has to be a dream." I repeated to myself.
"I can't accept this, Zobias. Your human life may be over but your dragon life will now begin. You're finally of age."
I looked over to the kitchen and saw a dragon. The dragon was bipedal and was the size of a human. The dragon looked pretty sarcastic, yet majestic and beautiful. She was balancing on her tail. Well I knew I'd soon learn how to be a dragon from her. I didn't really have a choice.
Dragoness walked into my room. "Wait!" I yelled before I felt pain in my feet and hands. They grew bigger and became digitigrade. I fell on the ground and tried to get up. But I couldn't. My posture was now a quadruped, draconic stance. I walked on my fours over to my room to see what Dragoness was doing.
"Dragoness, you're not going to destroy my drawings are you?"
"You're a clever little guy."
"Please, Dragoness. Those are important to me." I begged with tears in my eyes. The tears were from my losing my humanity and at the thought of my drawings being destroyed.
I wouldn't let something I worked on for almost a year be destroyed. I was anticipating the day I turn my series into a webcomic, with hopes that it would get published.
Dragoness dropped the drawings and walked over to me. She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me, my snout pushing up against her.
"I know how important these are to you. I'm sorry." She sounded like she really meant it.
She let me go and my transformation continued. My flesh wore away more and more until all that was left were scales that were covered in some kind of gooey substance. Dragoness stood there balancing on her tail. She stopped balancing and grabbed my drawings. She set them on my desk.
"ZOBIAS! Are you okay?!" She asked with conceren in her voice.
I felt something pull me down from my back and slap limply in the pool of what was my human blood.
"So, it's not painful anymore?" Dragoness asked.
"No, it still hurts alot. But if I'm to be a dragon, I've gotta get tough, right?" I asked with confidence.
"You bet, Zobias. You really will make a strong dragon."
My back felt like two sharp pins were growing out of them. My shirt ripped in two different places as wings came through. I flexed my wings as I examined them. the leathery parts were red and the scaly parts were blue.
I tried to open my mouth and when I opened it, I couldn't close it. I gagged with it open. Dragoness went to get a piece of wood and brought it to me. I grabbed it with my mouth and chomped the wood into pieces. Afterwards, the last of my teeth fell out of my snout and my other fangs appeared. Horns grew out of my head. My hair still remained although it was now green instead of brown.
My eyes began to hurt and I screwed them shut. When I opened them, I noticed that I could see farther. Almost like a power my now reptilian eyes had. My ears were all that were left of what ittle humanity I had. But that changed. My ears grew in shape and became beautiful fins. The membranes were red and the sharp points were blue.
Dragoness snuggled against me. I was embarrased. Was she doing this because she thought I was a cute dragon or what?"
"It's finally over, Zobias. You're now a fully organic anatomical dragon."
Dragoness sighed and spoke again.
"And I gotta say, Zobias. I like you better as a dragon. You really are a cute hatchling. Cuter than I thought."
I started blushing. I blushed in embarrasment but I was also comforted at the compliment. I felt like a little kid after being complimented.
"Wait, I'm smaller?" My voice shocked me. It sounded like when I was around 7.
"Of course. You're just a child after all. I may be around 90 but that's still a child in a dragon's eyes."
"Ninety." I said to myself quietly.
I walked back into my room. I wanted to show Dragoness some stuff. I showed her, on my Deviantart account, a drawing I did of what I thought I would look like as a dragon. Amazingly enough, the drawing looked exactly like me.
I went back into the kitchen with Dragoness and looked at the pool of what used to be my blood. I couldn't belive all of that was once my human blood. I no longer had human blood, but instead it was replaced with dragon blood. I sat down and inspected my body. My scales were a beautiful blue. A clue to what I looked like. I inspected all of my body, all the way to my... tail. My tail was rested limply on my leg. I was really happy. For the first time in my life, I felt the happiness I felt as a little child. It was comforting in a way. I was anxious to see what I looked like as a dragon. I wanted to learn what I would be like as a dragon. I wanted to learn my personality.
"So how does it feel to be a dragon?" Dragoness asked.
"I...I really like it. But I still want to become human sometimes.
"And you will. But it will take time. You will be able to see your family and friends again as Animeboye. And you can also live as Zobias.
"Zobias..." Dragoness said, petting my head. I murred as she pet my head.
"So, Zobias, would you like to take anything with you?"
"Yes. My DVDs, my pictures of my brother, my drawings, and my manga."
"Very well. This stuff will be brought to our world shortly."
I walked around for a little bit to try out my new form. I found that walking on my fours was easy. I noticed my tail was dragging on the ground. I pulled it up and moved it around. But then I let it drag on the ground. The feel of it on the carpet felt great.
"Now, Zobias. Let's go to the roof." Dragoness instructed.
"Since it seems you don't know how to fly yet, this will be your first step on your journey as a dragon.
"I..I don't know, Dragoness. I don't want to die on my first, but before I could finish, she grabbed my tail, swung me around, and threw me off the roof. I stammered a while before opening my wings. I happily flew around. While I flew, I noticed I was still wearing my shorts. I laughed at the thought of a dragon wearing shorts. There was a hole for my tail to come through. Dragoness then opened up her wings and flew with me.
"Dragoness, you show off."
"You'll be just as good too, kid."
I flew with Dragoness over the mall and headed for a new life. What awaited me now I was uncertain. What I did know was one day. I'd come back.
